This is Jacob’s story:
Jacob’s path in life has been marked by bravery from the very beginning. In 2019, at the tender age of nineteen , he joined the army with boundless determination. Stationed in Cyprus with his battalion 1PWRR, Jacob embraced every moment, seizing opportunities to live life to its fullest.
Amidst his military duties, Jacob’s passion for music shone brightly. Despite being scouted for a regular set on UK Bass Radio, circumstances in Cyprus prevented it from materializing. Undeterred, he graced the decks in Ayia Napa, sharing his love for music with the world.
Upon returning to the UK in 2021, Jacob settled in Woolwich, where he pursued his love for mixing and performing at open deck nights. But his journey didn’t stop there. He reignited his passion for boxing, delving back into his childhood training. His dedication paid off as he represented his company, triumphing in preliminaries and earned the best bout on fight night.
In June 2023, Jacob assumed the role of boxing coach for his company, a testament to his leadership and skill. However, amidst his dedication to the sport, a shadow loomed over his health. On July 14th, Jacob underwent a blood test that revealed the harsh reality of his diagnosis – high-risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Facing this daunting challenge, Jacob embarked on a grueling journey of treatment. From the first round of chemotherapy that brought the disease from 80% to 12%, to the pivotal meeting with consultants at Kings College London, the road ahead was uncertain. Yet, amid the darkness, there was a glimmer of hope – an Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant.
With each round of treatment, Jacob’s strength and determination shone through. Despite setbacks, including a recurrence of the cancer on February 19th, his spirit remains unbroken even with a 5% chance of survival.
In the midst of this battle, Jacob found solace in love, marrying his partner in the hospital to secure a home for their future and proposed later on in ICU. Together, they face each day with unwavering faith and determination, holding onto hope and cherishing every moment.
As Jacob continues to fight his hardest, his story serves as a beacon of inspiration to us all. His unwavering courage and resilience remind us that even in our darkest moments, there is strength to be found within.
