Sixteen year old Katie is T4 paraplegi and a fulltime wheelchair user.
Katie has also been diagnosed with Spondeloepiphyseal dysplaisa congentia ( restricted growth)
Katie is overnight CPAP dependant (continuous positive airway pressure) and has had intestinal failure which has resulted in needing IV fluids and enteral feeds.
Katie’s dream was to watch The Phantom of the Opera and have a overnight stay in London with her mum and sister.
The Dream Factory booked a night’s stay at the wonderful The Clermont Hotel and arranged transport and spending money to make the dream truly special.
A message from Katie’s Family:
Dear Seema,
We would like to thank everyone at Dream Factory and those who so generously donate for making Katie’s dream of seeing Phantom of the Opera and staying over in a London hotel come true.
Katie thoroughly enjoyed the show and had the biggest smile throughout! She would like to say an extra thank you for her merch, especially her Phantom bear.
After the show we went to Americana restaurant, which is just opposite the theatre. Katie enjoyed chips, her favourite food, and was very excited to see a member of the cast pop in for dinner with his friends!
Katie enjoyed her stay at the Clermont very much and said “it was really fancy and I loved it!”
Best wishes,
Ruth, Beth and Katie.
