Children create small businesses to raise money for charities

Teams of business savvy children are putting their skills to the test by creating small businesses to raise money for charity. Children at Manford Primary School, Manford Way, Chigwell developed their own small businesses to raise money for The Dream Factory, Fowler Road, Hainault. For three weeks, children learnt about how businesses operate and how to market products to the wider community. Sue Elliott, director of the Enterprise in Education Partnership Limited, said: “They have thoroughly embraced the challenge and have gained so many new skills from the experience. It has been a real pleasure to work with them and we wish them well with the new venture.” At the end of the three weeks children were joined by charity founder Avril Mills who praised their work. They will now continue to run their business on their own.
