July update from our founder and trustee Avril Mills BEM
Hello everyone, I would like to update you on our situation at The Dream Factory since the Covid lockdown. Life with The Dream Factory has had to change, so that we conform with the government guidelines.
I was furloughed for a while; now I am part-time furloughed, which is great news! This means I can keep us out there and help to organise our fundraising, which is obviously very difficult in these times. All our fabulous major events have been cancelled this year, which could have made us approx £70k , along with many other fundraisers through sports centres and other supporters.
We have two fabulous fundraisers coming up very soon which we are very excited about. As I have mentioned before we are not an essential charity so we were not able to receive government grants.
With our dreams, we are delighted that through lockdown we have granted another four dreams and we are aiming to get to 500 by Christmas – but with social distancing and with following government guidelines, it’s not going to be easy. We need funds to do this, we have 30 dreams on our list at the moment.
BUT NOTHING WILL HOLD THE DREAM FACTORY BACK. WE WILL SURVIVE.
In my Oliver’s memory 😇 and with your help, of course, please keep donating and supporting us.
With help from you we will make dreams come true. 😇😇
