Kieron & Nicholas’s Dream

The Dream Factory  created the most amazing dream for two very deserving brothers Kireon & Nicholas. Their Dream was a family trip to London incorporating their favourite things.
Kireon 19,  is severely mentally disabled, he suffers from global development delay, autism, epilepsy and has several absent seizures. Kireon behaves cognitively much younger than he is, requiring round the clock care and he will never live independently. He loves anything to do with trains and time.
Nicholas is 14, he has cerebral palsy and problems with his fine motor skills. He wanted to see Hamilton  The Musical at the theatre and he has a love of monopoly – he has nearly 20 boards!!
Sally and Dave, our Volunteer Dream makers visited their family home and put together the most amazing itinerary for the boys to enjoy with their Mum, Dad and two sisters.
Kireon also has a love for Frozen, but due to his condition it was unsuitable for him to visit the Theatre. Therefore, the week before their London Dream, Sally and Dave arranged a surprise home visit from one of his favourite princesses. To say he was happy would be an understatement!!!
DAY 1  started on Thursday Morning 12th May at Marriott County Hall Westminster.  Annabel our Volunteer Dream Maker met them in reception to hand over the tickets, spending money and their full itinerary including all taxi transfers.
After a fabulous lunch courtesy of the Hotel’s restaurant, their dreams started to come to life:
Nicholas, one of the parents, and sister were collected from the hotel reception to go to Hamilton the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre for a 2.00pm performance.
Kieron, and his parent and sister were also collected and taken to the London Transport Museum in Convent Garden.
After their exciting afternoon, the family were taken to New Dishoom Covent Garden Indian restaurant. They were treated in style and enjoyed a meal courtesy of Dishoom. They then returned to the Hotel and stayed in a room overlooking Big Ben. Kieron took some of his favourite clocks from home and lined them up, checking the time with Big Ben.
DAY 2 began with a lovely breakfast in the Hotel. Kireon, Nicholas and their family then had a relaxing morning, taking advantage of the hotel’s facilities.
The  boys both  love Burgers so at midday a taxi picked them all up and took them to Honest Burger restaurant in Southwark Street SE1.
With full bellies, the family took a short walk to experience the View from the Shard.
The final part of their Dream was to go to the Life Sized Monopoly at  Tottenham Court Road.   They enjoyed a fun family game.
We received this lovely message from Mum –
Hi Sally
We are now eating some dinner before heading home.
We came third in the monopoly game so not quite a win, but it was incredible so many giggles.
The shard Kieron loved! He sat by the window for ages watching the trains and he loved the lifts. Nicholas wasn’t too sure on the height to start off with but after a while he was ok and got some binoculars to look out at landmarks.
Oh, and Kieron brought another clock
We have truly had the best time! Thank you.
The Dream Factory are so grateful and would like to thank The Marriot Hotel County Hall for their continued support and Dishoom Covent Garden for making such a difference to Kireon and Nicholas’s experience. A big big Thank you to Erin our Disney Princess for visiting them and spending some quality time singing and dancing with the boys.
With Help from you we make more Dreams Come True in 2022
