Finley’s Dream

Five-year-old Finley has been diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare, lifelong genetic condition that affects many aspects of a child’s development and daily life.

Children with PWS can experience developmental delays, learning disabilities, speech and language difficulties, low muscle tone, coordination challenges, anxiety and difficulties with emotional regulation and social understanding. As they grow older, they also develop hyperphagia — an overwhelming, lifelong drive to eat caused by an inability to feel full — meaning constant supervision is essential to keep them safe.

These challenges mean that children like Finley need ongoing support to help them communicate, learn, manage their emotions and develop greater independence, while enjoying the everyday experiences that other children may take for granted.

Finley’s dream was to receive an Apple iPad! Not only would it provide hours of fun and a welcome distraction from food, but it would also give him access to visual learning programmes, support his communication skills and help him engage in educational activities. Knowing that Finley can sometimes be a little rough with his devices, his family also requested a heavy-duty, extra-sturdy protective case to keep his iPad safe.

When Finley was presented with his iPad, his smile was simply magical! He could barely contain his excitement, and seeing his happiness made this moment truly unforgettable.

At The Dream Factory, we feel incredibly privileged to have helped make Finley’s dream come true. We hope his new iPad brings him endless smiles, exciting learning opportunities and plenty of happy moments for years to come.
