For over two years, Maureen and Raymond have volunteered for The Dream Factory and have truly been the most wonderful couple who are always helping grant dreams and fundraising. We are so honoured for them both to be our Volunteer Heroes of the week and we truly appreciate all their hard work and support.
Please see below a lovely story recently sent to us from Maureen & Raymond about their wonderful journey with The Dream Factory!
Avril Mills BEM started the Dream Factory in memory of her son Oliver and when we got the call from her asking whether we would like to be volunteer Dream Makers, we were thrilled and delighted to accept without hesitation. We are so happy that not only are we Dream Makers, but we are also pleased to help at fund raising events and, in particular, at the annual Christmas parties that Avril runs for the dream children. It is so heart-warming and such a great joy to see the enjoyment and non-stop smiles on the children’s faces at these parties.
We have helped grant quite a few dreams now and each one has been so special, magical and so heart-warming. Having a special bike manufactured and adapted for a gorgeous girl who has Cerebral Palsy. Arranging a theatre trip for a little boy who has Leukaemia to see The Lion King plus a meal at the Rainforest Café. Helping to send a little girl who suffers from cerebral palsy to Disneyland for her birthday and delivering an Apple Mac to a gorgeous girl who had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia who never stopped smiling and holding on to it so tightly. We would add that it is great working alongside the wonderful Dream Co-ordinator, Seema and we thank her for all her help and support.
Lastly, we have to say that Avril and all her team are so passionate and enthusiastic and are all truly amazing, which makes The Dream Factory the great charity it is.
