Jacob Tompkins, 6, from Hatfield Peverel, near Chelmsford, Essex has been an ambassador for the charity since 2019. Having had a difficult start to his life, young Jacob was left with a brain injury after a traumatic birth.
Despite being told by the doctors that he would never walk, Jacob has already taken part in a sponsored bike ride for the charity, and is currently running a mile a day for 50 days, to raise money as part of the Kids helping Kids campaign.
Jacob, said: “Raising money for the charity means more than cuddles.”
The Dream Factory is an Essex-based charity that aims to brighten the lives of children living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Jacob had his own dream of going to Disneyland in Paris, but the Covid-19 pandemic meant he was unable to travel. He did, however, get to pay a visit to Lapland UK this Christmas which definitely made some of his dreams come true.
Avril Mills BEM, founder and trustee of The Dream Factory, said: “We are so enormously proud of Jacob and his dedication to us, and we are very thankful to Christine for giving up her time in joining Jacob on one of his runs.”
